How candy floss fundraising with Floss Wagon works

Use our online booking form to select your event date and provide the key details, including your venue and expected attendance. Once submitted, we’ll confirm your booking and send through everything you need to know.

Book early where possible. Term-time Saturdays in Wellington fill up fast, and the gala season from October to December is especially popular.

Collect the Floss Wagon from our Lower Hutt location 12 hours before your event and tow it to your event. Pickup is self-service, with clear collection details and operating instructions provided online before your booking.

The trailer tows behind any standard vehicle with a towbar. No truck, no trailer licence, no special endorsement. If someone on your committee tows a boat or a horse float, they will find this straightforward.

Before collection, make sure:

• Your vehicle has a suitable towbar and working trailer connection.
• The person towing the trailer holds a current full driver licence.
• Your venue has a flat, firm place to position the trailer.
• You have access to mains power at the event. A generator can also be hired from us for $50 per day if power is not available at your venue.

The candy floss machine is fully automated and self-service, so you do not need volunteers to make or serve the candy floss.

Each candy floss has a recommended retail price of $10. Customers simply choose their candy floss and pay using the built-in contactless payment terminal or the machine’s cash payment system.

Sugar and sticks are included, so there is nothing extra to purchase or restock during the event. Operating instructions are provided and are also available to view online, making it easy to get everything up and running on the day.

Return the Floss Wagon to our Lower Hutt location, in a tidy condition, by 10am the day after your event. We ask that you wipe down the outside of the trailer before returning it. We take care of cleaning the machine itself.

We then calculate the total takings from both cash and cashless payments. Your fundraising amount, including the relevant cash takings, is transferred directly into your nominated bank account by internet banking.

You’ll also receive a simple statement showing the total takings and your fundraising share.
